God has laid on our hearts the desire to start a church in Quatro Bocas (in the township of Tomé-Açu), Pará. Located 130 miles from the capital city of Belém, Quatro Bocas is a growing town carved out of the jungle. Originally settled by Japanese, it has become a big producer in black pepper.
A piece of property was purchased in 1991. In the past few years the foundation has been laid and approval for building was given by the city. We have made several contacts around town and people seemed interested. There are quite a few churches in town including a Buddhist temple, but no fundamental works. We are looking forward to starting a church in Quatro Bocas and begin works in the surrounding towns as well.
We are currently meeting in our all-purpose pavilion until the sanctuary is built. We also have two classrooms, a kitchen, a church office, and a covered parking area.
